The best heritage which any father can leave his children is the legacy of an upright, gentle and useful life. A man who will not lie or steal, even though he be permitted to. do 6o by the looseness of the laws; who does his duty, though it be a humble one; on whom his neighbours can depend; who is a good friend of his friends, and is oonaideratc of those who have few friends; who is devoted to hie wife and children, and who lives in the fear,.butfar more in the love, of God — this man is a good father.
