A NARROW ESCAPE.
NEARLY CHOKED TO DEATH
[Peb Pbess Association.] HASTINGS, July 13. An elderly man had a trying and exciting experienoe in a local restaurant yesterday. While he was having lunch a large lump of steak caught in his thiroat and chokedi him. As tie was unable to breathe a -doctor was called in. The doctor made an incision in the windpipe with a penknife, which gave temporary relief, afterwards extracting the obstruction, which was an inch and a half long.
