THE LIBERAL SUCCESSES.
SIR H. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN AT GLASGOW. (Received January 17, 9 a.m.) LONDON, January 16. Sir H. Campbell-Bannerman, speaking at Glasgow, eaid he attributed Manchester's splendid performance and the unusual triumph for Mr Winston Churchill to the country's sweeping verdict given not only against not putting forward a more straightforward tariff reform, but against the feeble policy of retailiation, which has been drowned for ever in the Manchester whirlpool. The Government intended to give greater security and freedom to the farmers, acoees to the soil to labourers, and would enable the town authorities to levy rates on site values and apply genuine, not quaok, remedies for education and licensing.
