CRICKET.
ENGLAND v. NEW SOUTH WALES, Unit-id Press Association— By Eiectric Telegraph— Copyright (Received Feb. 4, 2.22 p-m.)
SYDNEY, Feb. 4.
At 12.45 p.m. drizzling rain was failing, and play liad not been resumed.
F. Midlane, whose big scores for the Phoenix Club have been a feature in Wellington cricket in the last couple of seasons, will leave on Saturday for Sydney, wheye -he intends to try his luck in "bigger" cricket than he can obtain, here. Though only in hi3 nineteenth year (says the "Post") Midlane is considered one of the best bats in New -Zealand, and there is every probability that in the near future his name will figure amongst the very frontrank players.
