The- grand jury at the criminal sittings of the Supreme Court at Wellingtpn yesterday made the folloWing presentment:— " The grand jury desires to take- this opportunity of placing upon record its legret at the Spproaching retirement of Inspector Pender, and its concurrence with the remarks of his Honor the Chief Justice, concerning the Inspector's- able efforts in the suppression and detection of crime during his supervision of the Wellington district." ■ i . ■ -
