Several offers of assistance for the sufferers have been made from various sections of the cammu: v. Mr W. B. Clarkson has informed the Mayor that if a citizens' relief fund is .inaugurated he will subscribe £50. The Mayor is of opinion that before any action is taken by him in regard to a calling of a meeting of citizens to consider the question of relief, further details should be obtained.
