ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE.
At a meeting of No. 3 Entertainment \ Committee lasb night, it was reported that
sixty-one entries had been received for the recitation competition, and it t^as "decided to .niake; a.iniaximum time . limit .of seven minutes for each, recitation. The> following entries were also reported : —Physical drill 4, musical drill 3, physical exercises (gfr»s only) 10, Indian clubs (girls only) 7, singing (in part songs) 6, tug of war 3. 'The Chairman 'and Mr Capper were appointed to 1 arrange dates for members of the following institutions to visit -the? Exhibition: — Salvation Army Home, Mount Magdala Asylum; Old Men s Home (Ashburfcon), Burn>tam Industrial School, Deaf Mute School (Sumner), Jubilee Home, St ; Mary's Home, ; Armagh Street Depot, ,. and the Sunnyside ■ Asylum. , The Ciairman reported that .a very large number of performers had' promised to assist at the matinee performanoes, and the proeramme, as drafted by him, for Carnival (Week, 5 was approved. The -box plan will open to.-dny at Messrs Milner and 1 Thompson's for , the performance of "She I Stoops to Conquer," at which the Governor j and suite: will be. present. '
