Owinjf to the continued wet weather, the Cricket Association has hitherto been una* me to open the season, or even to allow its ground to be used for practice. An attempt will be made to begin to-morrow if the weather is fine. Yatchsaien are complaining that their sport will soon become extinct if no provision is made f or anchorage. Owingf to harbour improvements no sheltered position is left for them. An appeal to tine City Council has resulted in a declaration of the latter's inability to do anything.
