HAWKE'S BAY JOCKEY CLUB'S MEETING.
[Per Pbess Association.] SECOND DAY. NAPIER, March 17. There Avas perfect weather for the second day of the HaAvke's Bay Jockey Club's autumn meeting. The attendance Avas good, and the course in fine order. The following are results : — MARCH HANDICAP, of 100 soys; one mile— Tauhei, 3st .lb, 1; Jadoo, 7st, 2; Whitirea, 7st Sib, 3. Lady Lome was scratched. Won "by a bare length. Time — Imin 43sec. Dividend— _2 7s. SECOND HANDICAP HURDLE RACE, of 85 soys; two -miles — Voltaire, 9st 41b, 1; Ruby, 9st, 2; lEsfire, list lulb, 3. All started. The easiest of Avins. Time — 3min 50 l-seec. Dividend — £4 7s. A protest against the Avinner, on the grounds of inconsistent running, was dismissed. *. HAWKE'S BAY STAKES, of 500 soys; six furlongs and a half — Rosella, 6st 121 b, 1; Ideal, 7st 7ll*>, 2; Altair, Bst 13lb, 3. Rosella lisd from start .totfinish, winning in a canter by three lengths. Time — Imin 21 2-ssee. DivicleiKj _^ gg, PACIFIC* HANDICAP, of 30 soys; once round— Brennan, ~Bst 10lb, 1 ; The Dude, 7st 9lb, 2; Gold 'Cup, -Bst slb, 3. Alionora, Sirocoo and St Brigit were scratched.
