NAPIER DRAINAGE.
[Per Pbess Association.] NAPIER, March 16. The question, of whether the present system of flushing the sewers from the water mains is a good one has been agitating the public mind for the past fortnight, oAving to alarming statements as to the likelihood of the Avnter in the mains being contximinatcd by sewer gas. The matter was discussed in the Borough Council last night, Avhen it Avas decided, in order to allay any feeling of alarm, to abolish the present method, and in future to flush the seAvers by means of a hose pipe.
