The Eeco_.b Reign CELEriF-ATiON.-^Yes-terday afternoon a number of ladies met ntthe City Council Chamber, and appointed .a committee to co-operate with the committee appointed at the public meeting on Friday last to consider the question o. .celebrating the Queen's Eeeord Eeign. A meeting of the two committees will be held .at the City C6xmc.il Office at 8 p.m. to-day. The Mayor intends to move that the Mayors of ail the boroughs in the vicinity of Chmtchinvh shall be added to the committee. It haa been suggested that •the mayors of country boroughs and the .chairmen of Eoad Boards should also be >idi!od to tho committee. The Christchurch l-'ire Brigade has offered its services for ! tho demonstration, and it has boen •suggested -that the most effective manner iu°which its services could bo utilised would be by holding a waler display, illuminate 1 by coloured fires, in the even■ing.
