rPEB Pbbss Association.] AUCKLAND, Dec. 9. Tho Police Oourt was occupied all day with the case of Plummer, sending a threatening letter to Dr Philson, demanding £238. Plummer conducted his own oase with great skill. On the Kaipara railway a truck laden with some valuable specimens of dresßed timber was set on fire by sparks from tbe engine, and the contents, valued at £80, destroyed. Mr John Matthews' rope faotory was burnt down last night. It was not insured. [raoM OUB OWN OOBBBBPONDBNT.J
