[Reuter's Telegrams.] A Ceremonial of Splendour at St. Peter's. The Health of Pope Leo. ROME, Dec 8. A grand and impressive ceremony was performed to-day at St Peter's, the occasion being the canonization of four eminent deceased members of the Church of Rome. Tbe rites of canonization were performed by Pope Leo, and the proceedings were marked with great splendour and brilliance. His Holiness, whoße health has for a long time past been most unsatisfactory, continues in a very feeble state, and was only able with difficulty to take part in the day's proceedings. NEW PLYMOUTH, Deo. 10. There was great exoitement last night after the result of the election was known. Major Atkinson was driven through the town, and cheered by the people. DUNEDIN, Dko. 10. The Hon. T. Dick proceeds north on Tuesday. ______________________
