The body of the late Earl of Crawford and Balcarres was stolen to-day from the mausoleum at Aberdeen. The object of the thefb is believed to be to extort a ranßom from the relatives of the deceased Earl. A Blue Book has been issued con taining papers and letters in reference to Afghan affairs. One of the documents is a communication by the Ameer Abdurrahman to the Viceroy of India, in which he undertakes to do nothing without the consent of England, and expresses his intention to inform Government of everything that may take place in Afghanistan, whether good or bad. At the wool sales to-day 8800 bales were offered. Prices were firmly maintained. BERLIN, Dec. 2. At to-day's sitting of the Reichstag, the proposal submitted by Prince Bismarck for the establishment of an Economic Council of the Empire, was finally discussed. The Chancellor, in a lengthy Bpeech, warmly advocated the adoption of the proposal, but after further debate it was rejected by the Reichstag by a considerable majority. WASHINGTON, Dec. 2. The Irish National Convention sitting at Chicago has passed a resolution in favour of National Government for Ireland, based on the will of the people. Another resolution has been passed, endorsing the no rent agitation which is being carried on by the tenants in Ireland. SYDNEY, Deo. 3. The cricket match between the English team and Twenty-two of Bathurst resulted to-day in a victory for the visitors by 76 runs. The Twenty- two in their first innings scored 44, and in the second 68. The Englishmen scored respectively 115 and 73.
