Clause 1 of the New South Wales Felone Apprehension Bill makes the Bill retrospective for all crimes as well before as after the passing of the Act. Clause 4 empowers any of Her Majesty's subjects to tako alive or dead any whom a judge may declare outlawed. Clause 1 makes any outlaw of another Colony an outlaw of New South Wales. Mr Kenny, the director of the Australasian and American Home News, in a letter says it is the desire of American mamifacturers to take part in the exhibition, and efforts are being made in Congress to have a commissioner from the United States. The report of the surgeon of the Devon, immigrant ship, states that twenty passengers came out to Queensland with a view of getting relief from some disease, amongst whom were several hospital patients. Peter Doolan, a labourer, has been murdered at Cooktown. A woman named Arnold and a man named Maling are suspected. The International Exhibition Commissioners have arrived with messages respecting the intention of the Admiralty to send valuable scientific instruments for exhibition only. The date definitely fixed for the special sliow of wool is December. The estimated revenue for the present year in Few South Wales is £5,096,155 j expenditure, £4,969,883 lls 2d ; leaving a surplus of £126,271 8s lOd. The present indebtedness of the Colony is £12,000,000.
