Two thousand shares in the National Insurance Company have been applied for. There is a greafc agitation between the brewers and publicans. Several actions are pending. ■ Sailed — Charles Edward for Auckland. Taranaki, Sept. 20. Two thousand shares in the National Insurance Company have been applied for. The Pariaka meeting is finished, but the result is unknown. Arrived — Go-a-head. Wellington, Sept. 20. The bill proposed by the Committee of the Houso of Ropresentatives,makes the Premier's salary £1750 per annum, and other Ministers (limited to six) £1250 per annum ; House allowance £150, and travelling allowances two guineas per diem.
