EA3T Cheistchuech SchooiiS. — S. John's schoolroom, the Mu.ic Hall, ahd the Avoi / side schoolroom, will be opened thia morning as schools under the Education Ordinance, and without fees. Ordination. — The Right Reverend the Primate of New Zealand held an ordination yesterday in the pro-Cathedral Church of S. Michael and All Angels, when the Rev J. H. Wills, curate of Ashburton, was admitted to fche order of the priesthood. The rev gentleman preached in the same church at the evening service. Magisterial. —On Saturday, Charles Mathews, alias Henry Mathews, was brought up before C. C. Bowen, Esq., R.M., on remand from Friday, and was formally committed to take his trial for bigamy at the next session of the Supreme Court. The All England Eleven. — Private information has been received to the effect that if the All England Eleven can visit Otago and Canterbury, fche sum that would have to be paid by the two provinces, for one match in each, would be £1500. Considering the number of matches the Eleven will have to play in Australia, it is, however, doubtful whether they will have time to visit New Zealand at all.
