The Proprietors of the Observer and Free Lance have decided, at the suggestion of many of their supporters, to revive the former custum of a GEAND CHRISTMAS PRIZE DISTRIBUTION. It is their intention to offer an immense number of prizes, about 100 in all, to te drawn for in CHRISTMAS WEEK. These prizes will be chiefly articles of considerable value, including oil-paintings, hand-painted goods, musical instruments, first-class watches, cheques for various sums, in addition to a large number of other articles of ornament and use. This is not an art union. It is an absolutely free distribution of prizes, and all you have to do to f ecure a chance is to save up your coupons and send them to the Manager of the Obser. VEtt. Every six coupons will entitle you to one chance. The coupon will be published in every issue Tip to the time of the drawing You may win one of these splendid prizes at no cost to yourself. After you have read your Obsertee, cut out the coupon and preserve it, and so on nntil you get six. Then we allot you one chance. All coupons are alike, so that two or more from the same issue may be used in the •one set. EXTRA CHANCES fob SUBSCRIBERS. We desire to encourage our readers to enter themselves as regular subscribers to the Observes, and consequently we undertake to allot Extra Chances, apart altogether from the •coupons, to every subscriber whose name apjsears on our books, on the following system : — Every Subscriber of One Year, whose fee (13s) is paid in advance, will be allotted Eight Pull Chances, in addition to the coupons he receives in his papers. To every Subscriber of Six Months (7s) we shall allot four extra chances, independent of his coupons. Every Subscriber of Three Months will be entitled to two extra chances, besides coupons. This means that you will receive three times -fche worth of your money in tbe Observer, itself the brightest and raciest paper in New Zealand, and the only one that can boast of •original illustrations, and you will also have several chances of the valuable prizes we offer. The coupons will be entered in a ticket book as tbey are received, and all these tickets will be used in the drawing.
