The mine manager reports: The winze on No. 2 reef is down 54 feet ■bslow the 70ft level. Only one shift has beepi employed in the winze, and the reef stripped, but not broken down. In! the last few! feet the country htiis nob been quite so favourable as previously, . but a>ppeai's to be making in the bottom. The m|anger does not intend to sinik further ; at present,, but will start to drive, at 50ft down, v^hen the reef ha:i "been-broken and timbering completed. In the slopes the reef is about the same as usual; 401b of picked stone was tn!ksn.! from the qucirtz broken during thiei w&ekJ. At No. 4 level a start has been Made to drive from the top of the rise on■■ tlio Lioyallty reef to connect with the old drive on tihe'Occidental reef This should h& through in 25 or 30 feet of driving. Two men have started the crosscut from No. 4 level to cionnect with a drive on the flinty, which can then be pushed ahead to exit the No. 2 reef at this level. ■■'•- ••■»■' :
