The first hatch of women and children evacuated from Mesopotamia have reached India, occupying a hundred motor cars, escorted by an armoured ear. They joined the railway at Shergat, and reached Baghdad two days later, boarded a steamer at K:it for Basra., subsequently embarking for. Bombay. The journey occupied three weeks.
A War Office communique states that all military families in Mesopotamia, except hospital cases, axe now below Kut-el-Amar, or have departed by sea.
