TIMAIUT GRAIX MARKET. Another quiet week has beenoxperieneed in the Timaru grain market, practically no. business in either wheat,-' oais or potatoes having been transacted. It is thought, however, that the recent improvement in the London market may harden prices here,. and if such should happen some sellers will doubtless come forward; bnt* as things are' at present holders do not feel inclined- to do brsiness. As showing to what extent, B r,ma farmers are holding it might be mentioned that »i well-known Claremont farmer has 3QOO bnshels of wheat in «;tore and-£o far he has not evinced any aniieiy to rush into the market. CLEARING SALE. The National Mortgage and Agr-nev Co. of N.Z., Ltd., report having held a ruccessfnl clearing Rile on Toesdav last on account of Mr David Young." St. Andrews. There was a good attendance of buyers present and comjieu'ition from first to last was keen. A few of the realised prices are as follows:—Bav gelding £35. bay mare £l3. bay gelding £lO 10s. bav gelding aged £7, bay mare aged £9 ss. bay mare aged £9 fis, chestnut colt £27, 1. cow springing £6, 1 do. £5 ss, 2 do. £5, 1 do. £4 17s 6d. 1 do. £4 10s. 1 do. £3 2s 6d, young cuttle to £2 17s 6d. Implements, fnrnitnre and sndries nold at full rates. THE CHRISTCHURCTI MARKETS. P«r Press Association. OHRISTCHITROH. Jnlv 17. The publication of the final agricultural etat r stics has not excited any comment in the grain market. As business is dnll and the importation of so much Australian flour has disorganised the- wheat and flour trade to a large extent there is no •■bange to report and the had weather does not lend to improve matters. . Potatoes are firmer as no deliveries can tie made by growers till tlie weather deals. ■
