FOOTBALL.
Our Seadown correspondent writes : — The most debated subject m our district lately among the young folke has been the Bchool football match with Kerrytown, which was played at Seadown on Saturday. A goodly numben mustered to see the match, and there was not much difference m the physique of the teams, Kerrytown being if anything the heaviest team of the two. The Seadown boys, however, made up this difference by. a better knowledge of the game, and were returned the winners by 15 points to nil. Alter the match the visitors were, entertained m the school by the local boys, and after a f««w encouraging remarks by the head master, both teams cheered lustily the la.dies.who had so kindly provided refreshments and dispensed tlie.j. v ■
The following will play for the Colouial Ist against Timaru, next Thursday, on the Athletic Grounds, at 2: o'clock :— Boys, Shirtciiffc, Pan* (captain), Bourn, Mackenzie (2), Aimers, Mara, Oxby, O'Callaghnn, Stapleton, Lithgow, Malcolmson, Niall, Healey, Lack. The following will play for Timaru SecondBacks— A. E. Bilton, Mason, Heron, A. E. Stone, Rap6ey, Hobbs; forwards— Rutherford, Lightband, Philp, L. Bourn, Macintosh, Werry, McCullough, Berry, Creemer ; emergeucies— back, Suhofield ; forwards, Ziesler and F. Bourn. Members are requested to tarn up punctual.
