TIMABU BOATING CLUB.

A series of tcratch pair-oared racas was held by the above Club, m the harbor, on Saturday afternoon. The sea wai favorable for boating, there being just enough jobble on to make things lively, but not unpleasant. Tbe course was from a buoy moored about balf-way between Dashing Rooks and the point of the Breakwater to a boat lying moored near the watermen's steps, the distance being about three-quarters of a mile. There were altogether five races, the majority of which were well contested. We believe- it is the intention of the Club to hold rowing matches at intervals of a fortnight throughout tbe season, and we hope to tee a larger nnmber of members taking part m future ones. The following is the order m which the several races were contested and the results : — FIBST HBAT. J. Roberts, bow ") 3. Melton, stroke [ Waiho 1 F. Goocb, cox. J W. Wood, bow ■) F.
