Batter is dead—A survey of the steamer ' Golden Crown' was held to-day, by Captains Anderson and Sellers, and Mr M. Mccol, when it was decided to close in part of the fore end, willi which alteration the surveyors agreed that the vessel would be perfectly seawortliy. The ' Crown' came over from the North Shore under sail this morning. She is expected to leave for Sydney on Saturday — Waiuku firing: Captain Hamlin, 91; Currie, 90; Kelly, 70; King, 71; Watts, 68; Campbell, 65; Blowdoa, 65; Cardon, 67.— The saloon passengers by the ' Hydaspes' came up last night, having been released from quarantine,—At the Police Court to-day Hemsley's arson case was proceeded with. The morning was occupied by counsel's address Not concluded.
