An attempt was made on Saturday night to stick up a Portuguese who was carrying a bundle of clothes along the Parnell beach road. Upon the Portuguese producing a knife the assailant retired,—The subject of receiving the Marquis of Noraimby was discussed at the Borough Council to-day. It seemed a matter of doubt whether on his arrival he could be received as the Governor or merely in a semi-private capacity. The Provincial Government will present an address.—The case of arson, in which Kemsley is concerned, was again remanded till Saturday.
