Centeal Italy.—ln driving the adit level into the hill beyond the shaft the manager has got into more favourable country, and the drive, since,' the recent start was made, has, been extended 50 feet beyond the shaft. The rise on the reef is now up to within about 10 feet of the level, but there still remiins a distance of about 120 feet to drive before communication can be effected. The lode at the head of the rise looks much better than it has done, and although it does not at present show gold, it promises well, and the manager will, probably, if the circumstances are favourable, continue to rise upon it.
