Tho Provincial Government have advertised for sale, on October 26,100,000 acres of pastoral and agricultural land. One block adjoining tho Eangitikei district contains 44,000 acres, and another on tho East Coast contains 43,000 acres. There aro five other blocks, of which 6,000 acres are in the vicinity of Wellington. The Provincial Government have also determined to sell all the land under.reclamation between Pipitea Point and Mills' foundry, and upon which - the new Government buildings and railway station are to bo erected. The area is about forty acres. It will be sold December 21st. Tho Posi states that the General Government -have without-any legal authority advanced £5,000 at 5 per cent, to Mr Halcombe, for the purpose of being exponded 'in public works ou'the Manchester Block, better known as the Fielding Settlement. During last session Mr Halcombe, who is colonial manager , applied to have given back security to the extent of £7,500, which they had given the Government for the due performance of the conditions of the contract, but the ; Provincial Government refused.—.Messrs Pearce and Huhter address their coni stituents on the 23rd.— !'he' Strathnav er still remains under.arrest.--The first-pro-ceedings in the Yioe-Admiralty Court do not take placo before'the 22nd.
