« (Per Anglo-Australian Telegraph Press Agency.) Wellington, Tuesday, 7.55 pm. A fine chesnut colt Gladiator, by th e celebrated Gladiateur, winner of the Derby and St. Ledger, out of Fatima by Elis, has been imported for John Shield, of Wanganui. Gladiator was imported from England for John Moffatt, of Tictoria, and purchased as a yearling for 450 guineas.—Mr Nancarrow made an official survey of the boilers of the ' Omeo* this afternoon. The result is not yet known. The' Omeo' arrived at midnight, but did not fall in with the' Luna.' The cause of delay being boilers out. of order, and for thirty hours after leaving Lyttelton encountered a strong westerly gale and could make no headway. On her return to Melbourne she will be docked and overhauled.
