The attendance last night at the Theatre Boyal to witness the performance of the Siamese and Circus troupe was large, and the performance gave satisfadtion to the audience. We notice that there will be a mid-day performance to-day for the convenience of families, school children, and others who may not he able to attend the ordinary evening entertainment. Th« fares have been reduced so as to bring them within the reach of all. and a full programme is promised. N'o doubt there will be a good house this afternoon and evening, when the company give their last entertainment at the Thames.
It is with profound regret we have to place on record the" death of Mr William Rattray, at his residence, Allanbaiik, Kpsom, which took place yesterday. The deceased gentleman was among our very old residents, and for a long number of years had identified himaelf with every movement for the alleviation of suffering humanity, for the promotion of religion in its widest and truest sense, and for forwarding every good social movement. Mr Eattray was a man much beloved by a large circle of friends, and greatly respected by all to whom he was known outside of it.— Herald.
