A PPLICATION has been made by J\ William Souter foraLICiiNSK to Con-' struct a Water Kace, for Mining purposes, at Tararu Creek, commencing at a point twenty feet below the crossing of the public road leading to the City of Dunedin Cljiim, as marked Aon sketch plan lodged with said application, and terminating at a point marked B on said plaii, twenty f"et above Brown and Campbell's Dam. The length of such iiace is sixteen hundred and fifty feet, or thereabouts, and its iutended course is westerly. The mean breadth and depth of such Race is three feet by twenty inches; it is capable of carrying Seven sluice-heads of water, aiid the number of sluice-heads of forty inches which ib is proposed to appropriate is Five. NOTICE is, therefore, given that on the 28th day of July, 1874, a License will be granted to the said William Sodtek for the abovedescribed Water Kace, unless valid objection be in the meantime made in writing and lodged at this office not less than seven clear days before that date. , W.
