WRECK OF THE 'MARY THOMPSON.'

Pbom information to hand by the p.s. ' Lady Bowen,' we learn that the schooner ' Mary Thompson 1 has gone ashore oti the reef off Little Omaha. The schooner had left the Thames on Sunday for Russell, and put into Little Oimhafor shelter .yesterday morning, a N.W. gale blowing at the time; the wind shifted to the southward, blowing with great violence, and the vessel during a heavy > squall dragged her anchors and went on shore on the reef. It is believed that there is very little pro3peeto.f getting the schooner off, and it is supposed that she is'a wreck by this time. .No lives were lost. The vessel was owned and commanded by Captain McDonnell, and has been employed for many years in the coal trade between the Bay of Islands and Grahamstown. It was not ascertained last night whether any insurance had been effected on the vesssl or not. A report was current ia town yesterday evening that one of the hands belongiug to the 'Mary Thompson' was reported missing, but the rumour, as far as we could learn, was altogether without foundation. The ' Mary Thompson' was an old vessel, and was built in one of the-ports in the Australian colonies; she was rigged as a topsail schooner, and was about 50 tons register.— Cross. [ The ' Mary Thompson' was partially insured. She was built at Dumfries, Scotland, and was a staunch strong craft, admirably adapted for the trade in which she was employed.]
