Mr Burton, in the Cape Assembly, moved for the appointment of a Supreme Court Judge to investigate the martial law sentences and the establishment of a Court of Appeal to deal with the rejected composition claims, and claims alleged to be inadequately paid.
Sir Gordon Sprigg said the motion was impracticable. The Commission had already investigated (50,000 claims, and 25,000 were still uuinvesti-xatod. If the motion was carried the Go\rrninont must consider its position. The motion was carried by 32 to 22
