DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB. [telegraphed by press association.] < At tiro annual meeting .of th.c : Dunedin Jockey Club the balance-sheet showed that the past season began with a credit balance of £343 10s., and 'closed with a debit balance of £2143 10s. 3d., which is explained from the fact t na * £4332 7s; 7/U had been expended on Forbury .Pajjj* General regret was expressed at the Joss Sustained by the Club through the death of the late president 1 , (Mr ./,Jatnes_ 'Marshall), and it was '• suggested 'and generally .approved of,' that -a race be instituted which should be the means -to£ perpetuating tho name of tho late president, and would bo a fitting memorial by the Club foi Which he I had worked so energetically. . { j
