', Siß^ln reading your report last night of 5 the" fire ht "Vivian's Foundry," I _ find you remark : "Strange, to say, Mr. Vivian was in' another part of the building, and did not notice, the; fire,"; jtkus insinuating that I was careless and indifferent as to wb.ethe.nhe place was destroyed or not. Seeing that neither the building nor plant was insured — and I "should have been .a great loser had the foundry been destroyed •Mt is not very likelyl should have been indifferent about the matter had I known it ;' but where I was I neither smelt the burning nor knew of the fire till informed of it ; and after, all it was a saw-dust box that was burnt. — I am, &c, J. M. Vivian.
