COMMERCIAL.
Mr J. Yems sold at the Public Pound, on Wednesday last, 45 head of Mr Jas. Rossi ter's cattle. From the well known judgment Mr Rossiter has bestowed on the selection of his stock, and the scarcity of dairy and fat cattle in consequence of the clearance made by the Southern natives during the war, the stock at this sale occasioned considerable competition. Five milch cows, with young calves at their sides, realised an average of £12 Bs. each; the highest price being £15 55., and the lowest £7 108. " Fi-ve young heifers, with young calves, averaged £10 10s. each. Eight ditto, without calves, averaged £12 10s. each. Twenty-one steers, and cows fit for the butcher, averaged £14 each ; the highest price being £17 55., and the lowest £9 15s. A bull fetched £14 165., and a yearling ditto, £4 ss. "
