London, Dec. 19, . Official.—Aeroplanes crossed the Kent and Essex coasts at 6.15 last evening. Some reached the London district and dropped bombs and also bombed Kent and Essex. ' Reports of casualties and damage, have not been received. Our guns and aeroplanes engaged the enemy. Sixteen to twenty aeroplanes participated in the.-raid. Three groups of raiders crossed the Kentish coast and three other groups Gunfire turned back most, but five reached London and dropped bombs between 7 and 8 o'clock. ' After the main attack, a single raider flew over the city at 9 o'clock. One raider was brought down by gun- " fire off the Kentish coast. Two of the prew were captured alive. Another - is supposed to have fallen in the Channel. The casualties and damage in London have not been ascertained.

Bombs were also dropped in Kent and Essex.
