Mr J. O. Martin, B.M. and Mra Grace Neill, Inspeotorß of Factories, have been appointed a commision to enquire into tbe charge? of extravagancs against the North Canterbury Chariable Aid Board. They hold their first Bit tings at Christchurcb on Tuesday.
The work of formation on tha WoodviileEketabun* line is well advanced, except a ehoit section south of Pahiatua, wbiob is rather heavy. The Makakahi bridge ia finished. It will take eighteen months to complete the whole work, and £50,000 wil be required beyond the amount already voted.
