NELSON PUBLIC LIBRARIES.

We are enabled, by the courtesy of the Provincial Treasurer, to lav before our readers some interesting particulars relative to the Public Libraries of this Prorince, collated from the returns recently received by the Provincial Government from the Librarians of the districts, in accordance with the resolutions of the Provincial Council, and in order to be entitled to a proportion of the annual grant of the Council in aid of Public Libraries. From the perusal of its contents, which we give in a tabulated form, the Committees of the various Libraries will see the amount of the present year's grant allotted to them, which, we understand, is now ready to be paid over to the respective Treasurers, and also to contrast the advantages offered by their District Library with others in the Province :—
