DOG TRIALS.

CHKISTCHURCH CLUB. The dog trials were resumed this morning, at Cashmere, when the running of Hie Huntaway class was continued. The work was a decided improvement upon yesterday afternoon's performances when, out of lfi dogs that ran, only one completed Hie course, and another negotiated the second flags. Quite a number of the competitors failed to get the sheep near the first set of flags. Thirty-eight competitors started in the event. The result was as follows: HUNTAWAY, with slew; about 500 yards. First prize, gold medal; second prize, £8; third prize, £4; fourth prize, £2; fifth prize, £l. Time, 10 minutes. Points, Huntaway (i, under command 10, noise 8, style 6; total, 30 points. Mrs H. T. Little's Don, 5, 10, 8, 6—29 .. 1 A. Craighead's I.ost, 5, 10, 8, 4—27 .. 2 .1. McAughtrie's Brandy, 5, 7, 8. 0—26 .. 3 O. S. Jones's TTp, 4, 8, 8, I —2l 4 J. Chapman's Rous, 4, 7, 8, 3—22 .. .. o Don completed a good performance after one rash turn at the middle poles in ilmin Usee. The general stylcund noise was good. Lost worked very evenly, and put his sheep through the third set of poles in Imin 47scc. Brandy was inclined to rash work, hut worked on a poor line. He finished in ihnin Msec. Tip had good style and noise, but his sheep stuck him up in a drain, wasting tune, and the dog just failed to complete. Rous commenced badly, allowing the sheep to get too far away.
