DOG TRIALS.

CHKISTCHURCH CLUB. The dog trials were resumed this morning, at Cashmere, when the running of Hie Huntaway class was continued. The work was a decided improvement upon yesterday afternoon's performances when, out of lfi dogs that ran, only one completed Hie course, and another negotiated the second flags. Quite a number of the competitors failed to get the sheep near the first set of flags. Thirty-eight competitors started in the event. The result was as follows: HUNTAWAY, with slew; about 500 yards. First prize, gold medal; second prize, £8; third prize, £4; fourth prize, £2; fifth prize, £l. Time, 10 minutes. Points, Huntaway (i, under command 10, noise 8, style 6; total, 30 points. Mrs H. T. Lost worked very evenly, and put his sheep through the third set of poles in Imin 47scc. Brandy was inclined to rash work, hut worked on a poor line. He finished in ihnin Msec. Tip had good style and noise, but his sheep stuck him up in a drain, wasting tune, and the dog just failed to complete. Rous commenced badly, allowing the sheep to get too far away.
