NORTHERN A. AND P. ASSOCIATION. Nominations for the annual election of president, vice-presidents, and committeemen of the Northern Agricultural and Pastoral Association closed with the secretary yesterday. For the position of president Mr R. Mcintosh, the senior vice-president, was nominated. Messrs \V. Stalker and \V. A. A. Keleher were nominated to All the two vice-presidents' positions. As the nominations are only sufficient to All the offices vacant there will be no election. For the committee there are 26 nominations, and as the number required is only 21 there will be an election. The candidates are:— Messrs Jas. Wyllie (Sefton), J. E. Burns (Ashley), R. STOCK MARKET. ■ ' , The Rangiora stock sale was concluded yesterday in line weather. The entry of cattle totalled 59. Fat cows made £9 to £14.10/-, fat heifers £7 to £9, two-year-old Steers £7 5/-, store cows £5 .to £0 10/-, good yearlings £2 to £3, dry cows £8 to £lO 15/Pigs.—There were 120 penned. Baconers made £5 to £0 10/-, porkers 50/- to 02/-, stores 30/- to 45/-, weancrs 0/- to 18/-. PRODUCE MARKET. In the poultry section roosters sold at 9/-, hens 5/-, pullets 5/-, ducks 0/-, and turkeys 18/-, all at per pair. In the produce yards cliickwheat was sold at !>/- to 7/-, oats 5/-, grass seed 3/0, and peas 5/li, all at per bushel; whcatmeal and pigmeal 21/-, oatshcaf chaff 5/0, potatoes 12/- to 14/-, swedes 5/-, carrots 5/-, and parsnips at 7/0 per sack. Onions lid lb. LOCAL BODIES. Representatives of the Rangiora, Eyre, Oxford, and Ashley County Council and the Rangiora Borough Council met in Rangiora yesterday and elected Mr F. G. Horrell (chairman of the Eyre County Council) to represent the above-named local bodies on the Canterbury Progress League's HydroElectrical Development Committee, and Mr H, Elisor (chairman of the Ashley County Council) as representative on the league's Roads Improvement Committee. HIGH SCHOOL BOARD. The ordinary meeting of the Rangiora High School Board of Governors was held last evening, there being present': Messrs R. Ball (chairman), C. I. Jennings, Jas Marshall, R. Collie, Jas. Stevenson, C. W. Bell, H. Boyd, and the Rev. F. P. Fendall. The District Health Officer wrote pointing out that he considered that the conditions in Rangiora were not favourable to the installation of a septic tank. The chairman reported that the tender of Mr Logan, the present tenant of the board's reserves at Studhoime, had been accepted. The acceptance was confirmed by the board. It was decided to install a gas stove at the Girls' Hostel. It was decided to ask. the Hon. D. I'.uddo, M.P. for the district, to wait on the Education Department, Wellington, with a •view to urging the necessity of the immediate erection of the new school. It was also decided to write Dr Anderson, Director of Education, on the' matter. In the event of unsatisfactory answers being obtained, Messrs Banks and Strachaii and the Rev. F. P. Fendall were appointed a committee to go to Wellington and "sit upon the department's doorstep" until such time as a favourable answer was received. The principal's report gave the roll as 114, being CI boys and 83 girls. The financial statement gave the debit balance as £34 10/3, and accounts amounti..J to £22 10/7 were passed for payment.
