With a view to rehabilitating the reputation and proving the wholecomeness of the 1916-17 wheat crop, which was attacked on the ground that it was tainted, the Government .made a free distribution of rolls containing the same proportion of the allegedly doubtful flour as was supto the millers. ■ '."& roaring demand showed the public's willingness to digest the ,:• criticisms.
