FIRES.
OUTBREAK AT LYTTELTON. At 3.40 a.m. to-day the Lyttclton Eire Brigade was called to an outbreak at the. residence of Mr W. C. Cleary, Dublin Street. The washhouse, in which the fire originated, was burned down, and damage caused to .the kitchen, scullery and dining-room of the main building. After an hour's fighting, the brigade succeeded in saving the rest of the building, although -it "was considerably handicapped owing to the fact that the roof under the corrugated iron -was built of shingle.
