CAMBRIAN SOCIETY.
The annual meeting nf the Cambria]) (Welsh) Society of Canterbury was held at Ihc Y.M.C.A. on Saturday. There was a good attendance of members, the chair being taken by the president. Mr P. L. Davies. The president expressed his regret at the npathy shown by the Welsh community of Canterbury to the society. Considering that there must be several hundred who arc connected directly or indirectly with the .■ principality, the membership should be considerably increased, and there was no reason why this society should not be one of the most successful and interesting societies in Christchurch. The election of o/iicers resulted as follows: President, Mr P. L. Davies; vice-pre-sident, Messrs F. W. .Tones and J. Evans; secretary and treasurer, Mr P. H. Gwynn; committee, Mosdamcs Hudson and Hambcr, Miss Freebury, Messrs liowden, Hughes, James Jenkins, and Johns; auditor, Mr G. Manning. S The evening concluded with a short pro- ' gramme of Welsh music. Refreshments were provided by the ladies.
