LATEST WAR NEWS. SEAPLANE ATTACK ON GERMANY. THE ADMIRALTY'S ANNOUNCEMENT. The Prime Minister received the following from tie High Commissioner, London, Pccomber 28, 12.30 a.m.: — Tlje Admiralty announce that on Friday, the German warships in the Schillis Roads at Cuxbaven were attacked by seven British seaplanes. The attack began at daylight, the seaplanes being escortod by a light cruiser, a destroyer force, and submarines. Being sighted, the ships were attacked from Heligoland by two Zeppelins, four planes, and several submarines. A novel combat ensued, and by swift manuoeuvring the enemy submarines were avoided, the two Zeppelins fleeing before the guns of the Undaunted and Aretbusa. The • enemy's bi-planes dropped bombs harmlessly near the British '. .ships. After three hours, three airmen, with their machines, safely re-embarked, while three others re-embarked on submarines, their machines being sunk. The damage cannot be estimated.
