:- : : Mr and Mrs A.-H. Fisher and Miss Brodrick, of Dunedin, arrived, in Christchurch on Saturday evening, and are staying at Warner's Hotel. Mr and Mrs J. H. Elliott, of Te Awaanutu (Auckland), and Miss K. Findlay, of Wellington, are amongst the guests, jstaying at the United Service Hotel. Mr and Mrs B. M. Litchfield, Of Wellington, who recently returned from a visit to the ;West Cbasty and who have fceen staying at the United Sendee Hotel during the past week, left for the South this morning. A pretty wedding was celebrated at Knox Church, Bealey Avenue, on Saturday afternoon, when Miss Charlotte Coral Forsyth, daughter of Mr David McLay JForsyth, St. Albans, was married to Mr A. J. Bisset, son of Mr Robert Bisset, >;|.KeWj Melbourne, the Rev. Dr. Erwin officiating. The bridesmaids were Miss Annie Forsyth and Miss Hazel Forsyth, who made a charming ; little flower girl. Mr A. Weir acted as best man. The bride's frock was a cream silk crepoline, with which she wore a long tulle veil, with touches of orange blossom. She carried a white shower bouquet. The bridesmaid and little flower girl wore frocks of shell pink silk crepe and poplin respectively. Miss Annie Forsyth carried a pink floral bouquet, Miss Hazel Forsyth carrying i a basket of white carnations. After the ceremony about 50 guests were en- ? tcrtained at the Madras Street Hall. Mr and "Mrs Bisset subsequently left for Wellington. The bride's travelling costume was of vieux rose cloth, with black tagel hat and white ostrich feather.

A wedding of Wellington interest was celebrated at St. Peter's Church, Wellington, on Christmas Eve, the contracting parties being Miss Nellie Burgess, daughter of Mr S. Burgess, Wellington, and Mr F. T. Castle, of the firm of Abbott, Oram and Co., Wellington. The bride was given away by Mr E. C, Levvey, and wore a frock of cream crepe de chine. She carried a bouquet of white roses. The bridesmaid, Miss May Maginity, wore saxe blue crepe de chine, with a black hat, and carried a bouquet of pink carnations. Mr Perey Pye-Smith acted as best man. The wedding reception was held in the

Hotel Cecil, the rooms, being decorated with roses and sweet peas. , Mrs E. C. Levvey received the guests in a gown of amethyst charmeuse, with, i a black plumed hat. The bride's goihg-away dress was a fawn tailor-made, with revers of brocaded silk. With this she wore a fawn hat, trimmed with pale blue ribbon and berries. The bridegroom 's present to the bride was a pearl and diamond necklet, the bridesmaid's gift being a gold bangle. The bride gave the bridegroom a gold sovereign case.
