Mr R. D. Wallace, of Wellington, .is a guest at the Clarendon Hotel. Visitors to Christchureh staying at Warner's Hotel include Messrs G; A. Sim (Melbourne), J. Loudon (Dunedin, and B. W. Hawke (Lincoln). Messrs 11. W. Tavlor, of 'Auckland,, and H. Hall and P. Hall, of Wellington, are amongst the guests staying at the United Service Hotel. Messrs H. A. C. Chayinan and H. O. Haggitt, of Wellington, are staying at Coker's Ho.tel. They arrived iii town yesterday. ' 'Dr H. T. J. Thacker, M.P. for Christchurch East, and Mr P. C. Webb, M.P. for Grey, were among Saturday night's departures for Wellington.
Private advice has been received in Clrristchureh that Captain W. J. Shannon, of the 16th Lancers, who was reported missing, is quite safe. Captain Shannon was on Lord Islington's staff when he was Governor of New Zealand.
