MAXIMUM PENALTY. Prest Association. DUNEDIN, December 7. James Johnson was fined the maximum penalty of £5 and costs for failing to render the persooual service required unlcr tiie Defence Act. He had attended nrado under the influence of drink, and, after interrupting a lecture being delivered, despite repeated 'cautions, was ordered off parade in charge of an officer and two privates. Johnston tliemipon used filthy and disgusting langauge.
