First-class Stoker S. H. Cairne, of Weymouth, the hero of H.M.S. Hogue. When the cruiser was sinking, Cairne saved her ensign, fastening it round his waist, and carrying it for three hours in the water before he was picked up. The picture shows him with the flag. [Copyright.—Central News.]
