The death of the Earl of Erne is announced. - [The Earl of Erne, Sir John Henry Crichton, P.C., was the fourth to bear the title, which was created in 1789. He was born in Dublin in .1839, the son of the third Earl. He was Conservative M.P. for Enniskilleu from 1868 to 1880, and in the years 187(3-80 he was Lord of the Treasury, and in 1876-85 he was also Conservative Whip. From 1880 to 1885 he was M.P. for Fermanagh.]
