The Revs. A. C. Standage and J, E. Clark returned north last night. Major Charters, Lieut. Buddie, and Lieut. Jebson left for Wellington last evening.
Messrs J. G. Rutherford (Dunedin) and J. Melnnes (Wellington) are amongst the visitors staying at the United Service Hotel.
Mr W. Scott, employers* representative on the Arbitration Court, has sent in "his resignation. "It will take effect from January 31. „■ ~> Colonel A. W. Robin, Comtnandant of the New Zealand Forces, aecoiripanied by his staff officerjf Captain F. Hudson, left for Wellington last evening. Sergeant McGrath, who has been in charge of the Hawera police station for some months, retired on Saturday. He joined the force in Wellington in 1876.
Messrs A. W. Redstone (Sydney), W. D. Fish (U.S.A.), and C. E. Yates (Invercargill) arrived in Christchurch this morning. They are staying at Warner's Hotel.
Visitors to Christchurch staying at the Clarendon Hotel include Messrs R. D. Wallace, F. H. Thompson, R. Spraggon, and S. Gough, of Wellington, and J. Allum, of Dunedin.
